Description	Bilbo's contract, in a letter in Tengwar script written by Thorin Oakenshield and left on the mantelpiece in Bag End, and then supposedly preserved until found by Tolkien, an instance of his antiquarianism and use of non-narrative materials to support the text of his novels, providing a frame story and creating realism and depth.
