English: This picture was taken in Possession Island (Crozet Archipelago) at the site named "the elephant seal pool". This picture was taken in december 2002 by Nicolas Servera. You can see a male of the subantarctic fur seal (Arctocephalus tropicalis) injured in the foreleg during a confrontation with another male. The injury is deep and now the male is resting on the grass.
Français : Cette photo a été prise sur l'île de la Possession (Archipel de Crozet) sur le site nommé "La Mare aux éléphants". Cette photo a été prise en décembre 2002 par Nicolas Servera. Vous pouvez voir un mâle otarie subantarctique (Arctocephalus tropicalis) blessé à la patte antérieure au cours d'un affrontement avec un autre mâle. La blessure est profonde, aussi le mâle se repose maintenant dans l'herbe. |
