The Ambassador was the top-of-the-line automobile produced by the American Motors Corporation (AMC) from 1958 until 1974.
Most of these cars were built in the US, but Australian Motor Industries (AMI) assembled Ambassadors from knock-down kits with right-hand drive.
This is the 7th generation Ambassador, introduced in 1969, it was longer and wider, the front end revised with quad headlights and the hood was redesigned to accommodate the grille's raised center portion, the grille leaned forward slightly
For 1970, the rear half of Ambassador hardtop coupes and sedans were updated, on hardtop coupes, they got a sloping roofline that saw upswept reverse-angle quarter windows
