The last pre-war Oldsmobile rolled off the assembly line on Feb 5, 1942. During World War II, Oldsmobile produced numerous kinds of material for the war effort, including large-caliber guns and shells. Production resumed on Oct 15, 1945 with a warmed-over 1942 with a new grille,
In 1946, they were available in base 66, mid 76 and top 98, and in 4 door sedan, 2 door coupe and convertible.
Oldsmobiles were built in Australia by GMH from 1923 to 29 and also from 1934 to 48.
The last of these Australian built cars, 1946-48 were called the Series 66 Oldsmobile Ace, they had the most local content ever, even the chassis was assembled here. The bodies were shared with Chevrolet and Pontiac GMH cars
