Summary
| Description |
Önsbackadammen is the oldes link in the old water system that once powered the ore hauling plant of Falun mine (Sweden) ant the bellows in a number of copper smelting houses. The pound may even be Sweden´s oldest dammed water storage. It was probably made back in the fourteenth century. The water system for the mine was expanded bit by bit over several centuries. In the end there was a whole network of lakes, ponds, and tarns linked with each other by streams and channels. |
