In the case of Wikipedia, it's an instrument for public display and use, and anyone posting to it is doing so in a VERY public forum. I think it's entirely reasonable to request some shred of identity from them. I don't think it would even be out of line to require people to register before being allowed to edit articles. -- John Knouse (user:jaknouse)
