English: It looks like a lunar landing, hence the name lunette. This is part of a long dune situated in outback NSW near Balranald. It is also known and the Walls of China and is a deposit of sand and silt formed over tens of thousands of years. Westerly winds shaped Lake Mungo and as the water dried up the winds continued to shape and create lunettes.
