Summary

Description
English: This image shows an exposure of intracaldera Amalia Tuff at the mouth of Cabresto Canyon, New Mexico, USA. The Amalia Tuff was erupted during formation of the Questa caldera of the Latir volcanic field 25 million years ago. The exposure here is tuff that ponded within the newly forned caldera. Its light color is due to hydrothermal alteration.
