Brady Quinn[edit]

Noticed you converted his infobox to retired. He has not retired yet and is still actively seeking an NFL team. Therefore he has not retired nor has he announced his retirement. Converting his infobox to retired is assuming he will not play again which I believe violates WP:CRYSTALBALL because you are predicting his career his over without any official announcement from Quinn himself. Now if he makes through 2016 without a team, then he's done. Just because he's not on a team and he is working for FOX does not mean he's retired--Rockchalk717 03:54, 1 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox NFL biography[edit]

Hey, WO-9. I saw that you switched several template names from Infobox NFL player to Infobox NFL biography. We are in midstream of executing a merge of Infobox NFL coach into Infobox NFL player, with the new surviving template to be called Infobox NFL biography. At current count, there remain 59 instances of Infobox NFL coach to be manually replaced, and that process should be completed in the next few days. At present, "Infobox NFL biography" simply redirects to the improved (but not yet finalized) version of Infobox NFL player which will become Infobox NFL biography in the near future. As I have been manually replacing Infobox NFL coach, I have been using the Infobox NFL biography template name so I can track which articles have already been critically reviewed for template replacement and standardized formatting. So, I'm going to ask you to hold off on changing any more template names for a bit. If you're looking for something constructive to do with the new standardized template, you may want to review the infoboxes for the 32 current NFL head coaches all of which have had their infoboxes manually replaced and their infobox input data conformed to the standard format. I have already done this for the position coaches that were previously using Infobox NFL coach, but I skipped those that were already using Infobox NFL player. Take a look, and let me know if you're willing to help with the manual replacement and standard formatting of the remaining current position coaches (best guess, 100+ of them). After that's done, I want to perform the same manual template replacement and standard formatting job on the head coaching succession for every NFL team (including the defunct ones). At that point, the new template and standard formatting will be unavoidably established with plenty of examples for everyone to follow . . . . Please let me know what you think. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 21:11, 4 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, I'll look around at some coaches' articles and see if there are any infobox fixes to be made. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 21:59, 4 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hey. Can you take charge of converting articles nos. 1, 2, 4 and 5 at WT:CFL#Template:Infobox NFL coach is being merged, replaced and deleted? They need to be converted from Infobox NFL coach to Infobox gridiron football person, which is similar but different. I've got about 50 or so others remaining to convert to Infobox NFL biography, and Jweiss picking up 7 to convert to Infobox college coach. I'm hopeful I can get through this in the next four days or so. Let me know if you're up for it. I'm happy to review after you complete the conversion. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 22:31, 5 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, I'll convert them. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 22:33, 5 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You're my hero, Number Nine. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 22:35, 5 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
On balance, Pop Ivy's CFL career (3 Grey Cups) is probably more important than his time as an NFL player and coach. Can you convert this one to Infobox gridiron football person, too? Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 16:15, 7 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'll convert it. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 16:57, 7 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nick Kasa[edit]

I am aware "that's how it works" regarding Super Bowl championships but I thought the article regarding his "mixed feelings" about it was interesting and warranted inclusion. I see you disagree and that's fine, but I didn't appreciate the dismissive tone of the edit summary. Thanks. Skudrafan1 (talk) 18:54, 8 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You can add it back if you want. Someone could read the only two weeks thing and practice squad as kind of making fun of him like he didn't deserve the ring. Also, it does kind of state what's already been said as it says he signed with the practice squad on January whatever, so they know it hasn't been very long and that he didn't play in the Super Bowl since he was on the PS. AFL player articles[edit]

I'm currently going down the list of American Football League players and cleaning up articles, and I just thought I'd let you know it's a little disappointing when I find articles created by you and there's nothing to clean up. Haha, really it's good to know someone actually takes the time to make well-written articles of those older players instead of just slapping in a sentence or two and calling it a day. Lizard (talk) 04:40, 28 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Lol, thanks for the compliment. If there's info out there, I usually put it in the article but it's sometimes hard to find stuff on some of the older players. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 04:49, 28 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Leggomygreggo8: On the Wikipedia:WikiProject page it says "Groups of like-minded editors may start new WikiProjects at any time and are encouraged, but not obligated, to propose them before doing so." So you could just make one right away whenever you wanted to. You could base it on one of the projects at Wikipedia:WikiProject National Football League#Individual projects. Collaboration[edit]

I think we should choose an article to make better an then work on it until it's really good. I need something to do and I'd rather not go all-in on an article by myself so want to help? You can choose the article. Leggomygreggo8 (talk) 17:57, 6 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

We could work on Damian Swann. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 18:16, 6 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, sounds good to me. It's barren. What should we do first? I'm thinking we should find some sources. The two main things are early life and college career as he hasn't done anything professionally that's been big. His arrest is a big thing too. Leggomygreggo8 (talk) 18:25, 6 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, early years, college career and then professional career is usually the pattern that most articles follow. This has a lot of info. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 18:39, 6 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I expanded the article some. You can add some more detail if you want. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 19:42, 6 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I added his early life. Leggomygreggo8 (talk) 14:07, 7 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
nice add. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 17:41, 7 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

All the sources I can find say Zaunbrecher's career (or at least when he started playing in games) with the Vikings started in '71. He was definitely drafted in '70 but PFR doesn't have him listed on the Vikings' roster that season. Do we assume he was with the team for the '70 season? Lizard (talk) 21:33, 11 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I was just assuming he signed with the team. You can change it if you want. It would be weird if he didn't sign after the draft and then just signed with them a year later. That link only has people who played in games. He still may have been on the roster. Example: Mike Glennon was on the active roster in 2015 but didn't play any so he isn't on the team's pfr page WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 21:39, 11 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Idk, it's probably trivial and highly unlikely to be challenged by anyone in the future but I like to get things right, ya know. I'll just leave it. At least he isn't tilling crops anymore lol. Was that a case of everyday speech slipping onto Wikipedia? Lizard (talk) 02:59, 12 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe there's a top secret source out there in some newspaper archive that says he signed with the team in 1970 lol. Till's in Merriam. Not completely urban dictionary. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 03:27, 12 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I actually did check Google Newspapers, but no luck. It really is about just putting whatever info you find when it comes to those pre~1990 players that played only a season or two. Or, in a few cases that I found today (Charles Oakley, Tommy Neck) exactly one game. WP:NGRIDIRON does state "Presumed notable if ... Have appeared in at least one regular season or post season game" but I still feel uneasy about it because I know they'll be permanent stubs. Lizard (talk) 04:35, 12 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
This guy is my favorite. Try figuring this one out. Lizard (talk) 01:03, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Legend lol. That team apparently only played one game in 1921. The Kardex’s quarterback was such a non-entity that we don’t even know his full name. In Ken Crippen’s article about the team, he’s listed simply as “Cassidy.” WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 03:01, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
He was also teammates with the legendary Backnor. Also, Wex and Wise but their names aren't as cool. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 03:03, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I can't believe we used to put "No notable achievements" in infoboxes. What a slap in the face if any of those players ever checked their Wikipedia pages out of curiosity. Lizard (talk) 02:25, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yh, I saw those too, lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 14:29, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The next time I see a player article created by you with "Louisiana State" listed for college in the infobox you're getting trouted. Lizard (talk) 02:52, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough lol. Is there a specific culprit? WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 03:00, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I actually only saw it once from you and I don't remember which article. But it's pretty rampant by a lot of different editors. I blame PFR. "Louisiana State Fighting Tigers"? No one calls them that. Lizard (talk) 03:13, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
True, LSU is way more common. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 03:21, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Whack!
You've been whacked with a wet trout.

Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know you did something silly.

This one is for not footnoting your sources. Lizard (talk) 06:57, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Lol, yh it was just a quick little addition. Not the first time I've been trouted. I think I trouted myself once as a test lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 14:48, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Lol, there's still plenty more left to binge on. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 18:26, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Now why would I want to have anything to do with LSU? After all I'm a Mountaineer. :D loljk CrashUnderride 18:43, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I did make a new one for Percell Gaskins. The Rams entire 1996 draft class has one now. He played two seasons. CrashUnderride 19:18, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Nice add, I got a linking notification when you made that article because an article I started (Chuck Osborne (American football)) is in the navbox. On to the 1995 draft class lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 19:22, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Also, lol @ his coaching record (0-21). I guess that explains why the infobox doesn't say 2014-present. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 19:29, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Well look at the schools article, they lost A LOT of consecutive games. lol CrashUnderride 19:32, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Lol, there's a section dedicated to the losing streak. Gaskins has been pardoned. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 19:33, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That's how I first knew they had a long crap run. lol. I assume it's okay his high school coaching record is in there. I mean after all, he did coach the team, that is his head coaching win/loss record after all. lol CrashUnderride 19:37, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think we include high school coaching records in the infobox, but I may be wrong. Lizard (talk) 19:40, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I think I may have included someone's high school record there in the past but I'm not sure. If they haven't been a HC anywhere else, I don't really have a problem with it. Also, John Madden probably couldn't even win at that school lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 19:46, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I honestly wasn't sure so that's why I left it. I figured I'd be bold. CrashUnderride 19:49, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Welp, I dun did it again. Have a look, and you'll be proud I used the correct dash in the infobox this time. I remember and copied it from one of the ones I made the other day that you went and corrected for me. lol CrashUnderride 18:30, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yh, the dash isn't a big deal. I just add it as a habit. Nice article. Your on quite the binge lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 18:35, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I know this much, every Dallas Cowboys draft pick since 1993 that has played a down in the NFL has an article. Well, some may have only played in the CFL, but only two guys in the last 24 years don't have articles. lol. "Hey Jerry, where's my jersey man!!!" CrashUnderride 18:37, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Lol, maybe Jerry doesn't want to remember some of those draft picks though. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 18:39, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, it's not like I created the article for Shante Carver. lmao :D Admittedly he was good for the Dallas Desperados. CrashUnderride 18:43, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yh, I guess he kind of made up for it because Jerry owned the Desperados too lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 18:46, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Man, I miss the Deserapdos. I miss when the AFL had more than 8 teams. Or when not ALL teams made the playoffs. :'( CrashUnderride 18:47, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Lol, does that mean we can go to the 2016 Arena Football League season article and put the clinched playoff symbol by all the teams. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 18:50, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
And on the DeWayne Dotson article, you can put the high school as "Hendersonville (TN)" so it doesn't wrap to the second line. That's what most articles do because it already says "High school:" to the left. Not a big deal tho. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 18:52, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Pretty much. I basically ran the AFL group on here for like a year and I don't know how many people are still active in it, but I do what I can when I find something that needs it. But, I would legit have no argument for it because 8 teams and all are making the playoffs this year. I mean, really? ALL teams make the playoffs?! What's the point of the season?! Just have the playoffs and be done with it. lol Ah, I never think. lol CrashUnderride 18:54, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yh, I wouldn't really add it because it looks funny. I was just joking. Also, the Las Vegas Outlaws made the playoffs but folded before the start of the postseason last year so lol. Maybe they all haven't clinched if one of them folds before the seasons ends again. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 18:58, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Sadly, I've lost most all hope for a return to a decent AFL. lol CrashUnderride 19:03, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Lol, well there's always the CAFL. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 19:05, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, buddy! lol. Hope they have sexy Chinese cheerleaders in those sexy outfits. lol CrashUnderride 19:10, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Lol. Let's not get our hopes up. They still haven't started play yet. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 19:14, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
...And I doubt they will at this point. But hey, wishful thinking...can we get a NJFL (National Japanese Football League) going? I can just imagine the outfits THOSE cheerleaders would wear. How many teams do you think would have an octopus or squid in their logo? I mean, we all know they love their tentacle porn. lmao :D CrashUnderride 19:18, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I regret having clicked on tentacle porn, lol. Oh I mean "tentacle erotica". WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 19:19, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome. :D I'm ashamed I knew about that. And before you ask, no I have never watched that stuff. I mean, Japanese women, yes, that stuff, no. lol. But serious those cheerleaders would be worth a full price ticket. lol CrashUnderride 19:22, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Lol, you mean backstage VIP season tickets. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 19:24, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

"Legends" Football League lol. They can't hide the past. We all know what LFL used to stand for. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 19:27, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly! lol. I have seen a legit 11-on-11 women's league. It was really good. I'd like to see a WNFL take off. I mean, I prefer the WNBA simply because they actually know how to pass and not all go for dunks, etc. lol So why not a WNFL? CrashUnderride 19:36, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
There is a WNFL, wait nevermind lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 19:38, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I think something could be worked out. lol. CrashUnderride 19:42, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 19:43, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I do know the New United States Football League was supposed to materialize but never did...maybe we could get the NFL and CFL to work together on a North American league. I've seen where they've talked about the Bills moving to Toronto, and if they do, they'll need to change the name of the league. I mean, think about it, it's the NATIONAL Football League. If one of your teams is in another country, it either needs to leave your league and join the CFL or your league name should be changed to the NAFL. Same thing with the NBA and NHL...sorry but that just pisses me off. lol. CrashUnderride 19:50, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The International Football League. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 19:54, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I had thought about that, but the IFL is also the Indoor Football League and I was thinking about acronyms and all. I'm all for the International Basketball Association and the International Hockey League. Or even NABA and NAHL. My think is this; "BE HONEST WITH YOU NAME YOU A##HOLES!!!" lmao :D CrashUnderride 19:57, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, there already is an IFL. The NFL probably could possibly buy the IFL trademarks or whatever from them tho lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 19:59, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
So, seeing as the NFL isn't in immediate need of a new name, "Dear NBA (or NHL)...". lol I'm just soo happy to see the name "Los Angeles Rams" again. I hated to see both teams leave in the '90s, now they're back. :D CrashUnderride 20:04, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You mean Cleveland Rams, lol jk. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 20:05, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Let's not forget '96. That sucked and when '99 rolled around, I was so happy...and the Browns aren't even my team. lol. I just hate relocations, especially with teams from when I was a kid. Let alone when a dome team gets an outdoor stadium, ugh. I say put all teams in domes and be done with it. That way EVERY NFL city has a fair shot at the Super Bowl. CrashUnderride 20:09, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
"EVERY NFL city has a fair shot at the Super Bowl" except the Browns. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 20:11, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
HAHA!!! Yeah, let's see the Super Bowl be in Pittsburgh or Baltimore. Two "small"/cold cities. lol. I say this, find a neutral large city, say Las Vegas and have the league build a stadium there solely for the Super Bowl, every year. Neither team would have a home field advantage and they could do what the XFL did, have a sprint to the ball to determine who chose the coin toss. lol CrashUnderride 20:17, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yh, the sprint was an interesting idea. From the XFL article: "The XFL's first injury infamously resulted from the opening scramble; Orlando free safety Hassan Shamsid-Deen suffered a separated shoulder prior to the Rage's 33–29 season-opening win over the Chicago Enforcers at Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium on February 3. He ended up missing the remainder of the campaign." lol.
Backups, always backups. lol. Or even better, up the rosters to 54 and have one player their ONLY role is the sprint. lol. (On a side note: Man, I miss the XFL.) CrashUnderride 20:31, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Lol, just have a position called Sprinter. Hire track stars. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 22:03, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds like a plan. Also, BAM, here's ANOTHER one for ya. :D CrashUnderride 22:11, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, nice one. That's a good-sized article. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 22:16, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I was looking at the Hitmen's roster and was like, "Wait, Chris Maumalanga? He played for the Giants, I remember Michael Strahan talking about him being in a gang and fighting in camp!" and well, there ya go. That's all it took. lol CrashUnderride 22:18, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Lol, fighting Strahan, must have been crazy. I linked the article at Stephen Paea. 22:20, 16 April 2016 (UTC)
Thank you, I meant to do that. I already linked it at the 1994 NFL draft. It was already red linked in the 1994 Giants draft template and the NY/NJ roster. I think the references in the infobox for the jersey numbers is okay, I've seen other articles with them. Also, I know he's Samoan, I would've added the categories but I didn't know how the names were formatted. CrashUnderride 22:24, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Also, idea, lets work on one of the articles I created to get it up to GA level. lol....sure, I think THAT'S possible with the ones I created. lmfao. CrashUnderride 22:25, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Did he wear #74. The links don't have any numbers. The column says "height". Lol, and pretty much all the numbers are in the 70s, even the QBs. So I don't think that's actually his number. Just an error. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 22:30, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Good catch. I took it out. CrashUnderride 22:32, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
And about the Good article thing. I haven't really done any of that stuff but I think they may be picky. So they might change the article in ways that you don't like or something. You can try it tho. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 22:33, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Well, as long as it's a well written and quality article I'm okay with it. It's not like I own it or anything. I'm just happy to contribute quality articles that help football fans learn about players. CrashUnderride 22:38, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed. Also, I typed his name in the search bar and linked him from some other articles. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 22:40, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I didn't think he'd be linked to too much, aside from those he fought and the draft article. At least pages that didn't have him red linked. lol CrashUnderride 22:44, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yh, lol. You can try GA with one one your articles. I'm not sure if it's that strict. I was just saying like you might cite something to a blog. It could be a reliable blog but they might remove it because it's from a blog. It probably depends on who's reviewing it. I haven't really done it before lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 22:50, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Lol, for as long as I've done this, over 8 years now, I've never worked on one. lol CrashUnderride 22:56, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Pretty long time. Also, now you have to make an article on the the other guy he got into a fight with lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 22:58, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I was going to. lol :D CrashUnderride 23:01, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Nice, lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 23:06, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
And you thought I couldn't. :D CrashUnderride 23:42, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
"Damn Daniel, back at it again with" those new articles. lol. CrashUnderride 17:33, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Nice job on the articles. I wonder if Maumalanga has fought anyone else lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 18:17, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Those are the only two that I know of. lol. I still can't believe that I've created as many articles as I have. Too bad they aren't more high caliber players, etc. lol. CrashUnderride 18:19, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yh, you're on a good bender now lol. Also, are you sure that Barnes' vertical jump was only 1⁄35 in lol. Did he just lift his foot or something. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 18:39, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, I fixed it. I think I may just keep going. lol. CrashUnderride 18:44, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
lol, nice. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 18:49, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
BAM!!!! CrashUnderride 19:31, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
And once again. :D CrashUnderride 19:46, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Lol, edit conflict. I was just about to say " my intuition tells me that Kendall Ogle is next" lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 19:48, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Be forewarned, there is more to come. :D lmao CrashUnderride 20:08, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Nice. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 20:18, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Here's another one. CrashUnderride 20:29, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I should award you the other half of "The Half Barnstar" lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 21:18, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Whew. Man, we may need to come up with a barnstar that's specific for people that create so many quality (regardless of length) articles. lmao CrashUnderride 21:37, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Template:The Writer's Barnstar? Or we could just get fancy and click the heart icon on someone's talk pages and then click "Make you own" lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 22:01, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Lol. And what's more, I'm working on another article right now. :D CrashUnderride 22:16, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Impressive. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 22:19, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
And done....with that one. CrashUnderride 22:59, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
How many is that now lol. Based on your last few ones, I assume that the next one is Earnest Hunter lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 23:05, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Well, since the 16th, I'd say 10-12, last I counted was 7. But then I stopped. But in total, ever, over 45 articles and templates. lol And you would be correct, he's the one I'm working on now. lol. CrashUnderride 23:28, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Lol, I don't have a guess for who's after him tho cuz he's the last one in the navbox. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 23:30, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Is he? Is he really? lol CrashUnderride 23:43, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Well, besides a coach lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 00:55, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It's not been easy, but I'm working on it. lol. He was a DB coach from 1993 to 2011. I'd say respectable and noteworthy. lol. CrashUnderride 01:10, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
See you made the Hunter article since it isn't a red link anymore lol, nice. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 01:13, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I made it a couple of hours ago. Now I'm just trying to find Alvin Reynolds birthday. I also have great cause to believe he is the father of former Notre Dame cornerback Alvin Reynolds Jr. lol. CrashUnderride 01:21, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
source. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 01:23, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you!!! I love you!!!! :D CrashUnderride 01:24, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Lol, that's a good site. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 01:28, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Ironically enough, I used it on the Earnest Hunter article. :D CrashUnderride 01:29, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Coincidence? I think not lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 01:30, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Whew....finally, done. Sadly, the length doesn't reflect the time it too. lol. Damn it! I deserve a steak for the time I put into that one. :D CrashUnderride 01:32, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Seriously?! I didn't even know they had those. Thank ya. lmfao CrashUnderride 01:40, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Lol. Yh, I just clicked the heart icon and "make your own". WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 01:41, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Oh cool. I've honestly never made one. lol. Well, the season pages are updated with his article being linked. I think I'm gonna take a break and come back tomorrow. I've been doing this all day, after awhile my knuckles just give out. lol. CrashUnderride 01:47, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
lol, quite the performance. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 01:49, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nice work Crash. I just have one request that you don't forget to add the DEFAULTSORT with the categories.--Yankees10 01:56, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Also you guys really like to say "lol"...lol.--Yankees10 01:58, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed lol. Lizard (talk) 02:15, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I make myself laugh, I'm funny like that. :D I'll do my best with the DEFAULTSORT. Hey, I'm lucky to remember most of the categories I add. I counted up, I've made around 15 new articles in the last two days. I guess it's a shame for me that I don't follow college football as much as I used too. If I did, then I'd have a better chance to make an article that becomes a Peyton Manning or Tom Bradyesc article. lol. CrashUnderride 02:25, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure if you are aware of Wikipedia:WikiProject National Football League/Articles to create, but there's plenty of players on there if your running out of guys to create.--Yankees10 02:48, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Or if you're really interested in building up an article, take a look at some of the articles in Template:Pro Football Hall of Fame members. There are some really pathetic articles in there that could use some love, and they should all have tons of sources to find info on them. Leo Nomellini for example, is in both the college and pro HOF and has a 5k byte article. Lizard (talk) 03:02, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, you could also go through any football player categories and expand articles that you find. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 15:01, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Aye, football articles in general are typically poor quality. I'm just pointing out the HOF articles since they're (or should be) top importance articles. Lizard (talk) 18:24, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I agree. My comment kind of sounds like I'm disputing it lol, changed. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 18:26, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
There, done...Leo Nomellini is better. Good thing he was a pro wrestler. I know a website or two that are acceptable to be used as sources. lol. CrashUnderride 22

Nice work. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 23:00, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'm happy with what I could do with what I had. lol. Now, I think I'll eventually head over to the AfC page. lol. CrashUnderride 23:04, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Just remember to cite your sources with footnotes or I'll be fishing you next. Lizard (talk) 23:05, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Saints[edit]

Are you a Saints fan? You seem to edit a lot of Saints articles but then again you edit a lot of articles :P Leggomygreggo8 (talk) 15:20, 20 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I just edit a lot of articles lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 16:20, 20 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You're a closet Saints fan, just admit it. Lizard (talk) 16:38, 20 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 16:46, 20 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I need people for my WikiProject >.<Know any saints fans?Leggomygreggo8 (talk) 17:16, 20 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Not really. Lizard might be since he edits Louisiana State, I mean LSU, articles lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 17:29, 20 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yeh sha I'm from south of New Orleans. I am a Saints fan but I'm much more invested in LSU sports and college football as a whole. Lizard (talk) 18:30, 20 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
and the LSU joke is from User talk:WikiOriginal-9#Godfrey Zaunbrecher. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 18:51, 20 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I know this was nearly 2 years ago, but to answer your question, nuke any unsourced personal info you find. Especially on BLPs. Lizard (talk) 00:58, 21 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Lol, nice find. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 01:55, 21 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I typically look at edit history when I see particularly dumb stuff just to call out anyone who saw said stuff and didn't remove it. Like how I called out the entire WP:NFL when I saw this egregiousness stayed for over 10 days on THE most-viewed football related article on this site, in the lead, on a "good article" with over 300 page "watchers." My lid was flipped. Lizard (talk) 02:07, 21 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
"learning from their mistake" lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 02:15, 21 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
"due to an unbeatable defense." I had a nice chat with the perpetrator a few days ago. Lizard (talk) 02:17, 21 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I did a quick search for the stuff in that Rodney Young article and all I found was LinkedIn, which isn't an acceptable source since anyone can just put whatever they want on there and some random article saying "He was an outstanding person, an outstanding father, said Rodney Young, a fellow firefighter". WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 02:20, 21 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

April 2016[edit]

Information icon Hello. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Kelechi Osunwa without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. Stanleytux (talk) 19:26, 22 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

HAHAHA!!! Sorry, but that's funny. All he really removed was his birthplace from the lead, which is proper format, but the stub templates, probably should've stated. Also, the fact that the person complaining has a history of being a WP:SOCK, yeah, that's ironic. lol. CrashUnderride 19:48, 22 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yh, it was just a drive by edit lol. Could still be considered a stub to some. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 19:55, 22 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I think it's be settled. I fixed their edit, they reverted and added it a second time in the same sentence in the lead. I removed it again tell them it wasn't proper format and they created an early life section stating his birthplace, which as we all know, an early years section with only one to two sentences is usually accepted. lol. CrashUnderride 19:58, 22 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Lol, fair enough. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 20:05, 22 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That's whiggity whiggity whack. Why do we accept one sentence sections? I feel if a section can't be expanded into a paragraph (at least 3 compound sentences), it should be merged into another section. Lizard (talk) 20:48, 22 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Well I know nothing about soccer players, let alone Nigerian ones. lol But I'm sure it can be expanded. 20:59, 22 April 2016 (UTC)

I done done it again.[edit]

Here's yet another one. lol. CrashUnderride 01:46, 24 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nice, I added that one to the list a while ago. Also, I believe the proper terminology is I "done did" it lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 03:28, 24 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Quoting Will Smith. :D lol. Oh, but wait, I'm working on another one from the list. lol. CrashUnderride 03:42, 24 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Like I said. Now, THAT'S how you start an article. lmao CrashUnderride 03:50, 24 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Very impressive, there's some other current NFLers on there too. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 03:53, 24 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'll have a look tomorrow. I'm thinking of bed before long. lol. CrashUnderride 03:56, 24 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
lol, you probably need a good night's rest after all of these creations lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 03:59, 24 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for Waybacking the profiles, etc. CrashUnderride 04:08, 24 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yh, I usually add those because the bios have a lot information that could be used to expand articles and they sometimes go dead, which causes people to remove the link which checking for an archived version. If it's a dead ref, they usually check but not always for external links. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 04:11, 24 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Insert Beavis laugh, here ya go. CrashUnderride 19:47, 24 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Nice one, I removed the asterisk on the Texans since he was on the active roster. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 21:01, 24 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, well I wasn't sure if he was or not. lol. Also, there's this. :D CrashUnderride 21:02, 24 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I thought that one might be next lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 21:11, 24 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Surprise! Didn't see that one coming did you? lol. CrashUnderride 22:40, 24 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I did not see that one coming lol. Nice work. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 22:50, 24 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Then there's this one. Most of what was available for him was the same thing on all different sites. CrashUnderride 23:12, 24 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Now onto the 1945 draft lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 23:22, 24 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yeeee.....probably not. lol. :D CrashUnderride 01:07, 25 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Remember to include the leagues players have played in in the lead section, preferably the first sentence. Specify that they play/have played in the National Football League, Arena Football League, etc. Also, the really old players are fun. There's always a potential to re-discover some forgotten player that scored a winning touchdown in one of the early NFL Championships. Lizard (talk) 01:12, 25 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 01:21, 25 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

NFL Draft[edit]

Hi, at Talk:2016 NFL draft, your comment seems to be in support of the move but doesn't actually start with a boldfaced "Support". If you actually do support the move, could you add a boldfaced "Support" to the front of your comment to make your position clearer? Thanks. —Lowellian (reply)

1921[edit]

I like how you did 1921 All-Pro Team and then just said "screw it." Lizard (talk) 17:37, 19 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

lol, looks like you did 1922 All-Pro Team and said screw it too. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 15:52, 22 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It's a lot of work. Especially later on when there's like 8 different selectors. Lizard (talk) 16:09, 22 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 16:11, 22 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Someone should finish them nudge nudge wink. Lizard (talk) 01:38, 24 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Or you could consider adopting a Hall of Famer. Completely free of charge! Lizard (talk) 06:02, 24 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Lol, finishing all those All-Pro teams might take a while. Nice HOF list. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 16:52, 24 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You can thank Cbl for that list. He put a lot of time into it, but I think it was justified. The poor shape that our HOF player biographies are in is a shame. You'd be hard pressed to find a player in the Baseball HOF or an NBA player in the Basketball HOF with an article lower than C class, but with NFL HOFers it's practically the norm. Lizard (talk) 17:09, 24 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
True. I think I said it earlier but there's just way more NFL players than the other sports. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 15:43, 26 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Milestone[edit]

Congrats on being the first edit here in nearly 3 years. I'm still floored on how little attention that article gets. We're talking history of Notre Dame here. Not exactly South Florida. Lizard (talk) 17:18, 23 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Lol, thanks for the acknowledgement. Part of that is probably because the history article wasn't linked at Notre Dame Fighting Irish football until now. The main article's history section seems to be more complete than the history article. The history article has no "Brian Kelly era". It stops in 2009. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 17:24, 23 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, I noticed. Look at the history article's article history (lol). The last addition of actual content was when the article was first created in 2009. Lizard (talk) 17:30, 23 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Also, it looks the Jensen highlights were just copy pasted from here. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 17:33, 23 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

NFL page importance scale[edit]

Needs to be updated. We have like 4 editors total working on actually writing articles, so we have to be super strict on importance rating. I think the number of high and top importance articles are about right, but there's way too many mid importance. 7 or more seasons is much too lenient. In fact, seasons played shouldn't even be a factor. But if it is it should be bumped up to 10 seasons. We should also probably look at re-assessment of B-class articles; I checked 15 B-classes at random, and maybe 2 of them were realistically B class. There were even a few stubs. Lizard (talk) 03:43, 22 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This is why I've been so active with CFB assessment. It was neglected for a long time. Doc Blanchard had just a 'mid" when I started! Cake (talk) 03:48, 22 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, when I first saw the seven seasons thing I wasn't really sure about it. I couldn't really find any discussion on the importance scale besides this and that discussion only involved two people. So feel free to open a discussion at WP:NFL. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 12:18, 22 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I've never really understood the importance scale, unless it's a big name player such as Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, J. J. Watt, etc. CrashUnderride 12:51, 22 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Nope. Lizard (talk) 01:08, 23 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Also, mind if I add some tooltips to the stats table on that Tittle article. I've seen them on NBA articles but never really saw them on NFL ones. I figured out how to do it recently. Saw it done on Cam Newton. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 15:36, 5 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

List of National Football League players with unidentified given names[edit]

Rather than taking this to AfD... Since it looks like you're the only significant contributor, might I suggest either providing some refs for List of National Football League players with unidentified given names that support its notability as a list per WP:LISTN, or tagging it for deletion as the only significant contributor. As it is now it appears to fall under WP:INDISCRIMINATE. Lizard (talk) 22:08, 11 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I see now its MLB counterpart is an FA, but I'd even challenge that one. I don't really see any references that would establish its notability as a stand-alone list. Lizard (talk) 22:14, 11 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yh, I can't really find any sources talking about this topic. Also, I wish you luck in AfDing that Article/List. Has something featured ever been deleted before lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 22:48, 11 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure what you mean. Whether or not the article exists/should exist has no bearing on the existence of an article for each of those players. Lizard (talk) 22:55, 11 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I know but see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Smith (baseball). WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 22:57, 11 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like that's because the MLB project has a concerted goal of covering every player that ever played. See Arxiloxos' "keep" comment. I don't believe that's something the NFL project is trying to do. So the cases are different. Lizard (talk) 23:04, 11 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
WP:LOCALCONSENSUS tho. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 23:11, 11 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Has there ever been a consensus on WP:NFL to create an article for every player that ever played? It's possible. But given how past discussions on WP:NFL were never documented into any sort of guideline or plan, good luck finding it. And regardless, the stand-alone list still has to establish notability for itself. Lizard (talk) 23:34, 11 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Well, pretty much all NFL players have articles due to WP:NGRIDIRON. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 23:35, 11 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

That's because we have yet to run into the conundrum that MLB ran into that got that one article deleted. NGRIDIRON states that notability is presumed if they played in a game, but not guaranteed. The top of WP:NSPORTS states "meeting of any of these criteria does not mean that an article must be kept." It's just a rule of thumb, but it isn't binding. It doesn't take into account an extreme case like a guy known only as "Pepper" playing a single game at guard for the Rochester Jeffersons in 1920. Without NGRIDIRON, there wouldn't be a snowball's chance in hell that article would satisfy Wikipedia's notability criteria. Lizard (talk) 23:48, 11 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed but do you think Pepper should be mentioned anywhere? Seems like that is why the MLB list was made. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 23:54, 11 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
In a roster on 1920 Rochester Jeffersons season. Lizard (talk) 00:01, 12 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
What about a List of NFL players. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 00:03, 12 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
List of Rochester Jeffersons players. Lizard (talk) 00:04, 12 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That too, but what do you think of about a List of NFL players like List of MLB players, List of NBA players and List of NHL players. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 00:06, 12 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
How do those differ from what we have now at List of NFL players? Lizard (talk) 00:11, 12 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
There's nothing like List of Major League Baseball players (A) for the NFL. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 00:15, 12 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Oh. My eyes automatically gloss over tables of contents so I didn't even notice that. Seems like a good idea. Lizard (talk) 00:16, 12 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Lol, could we just get a bot to somehow dump every profile on pfr into a list. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 00:23, 12 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
This also made me remember User:Tavix/List of NFL players, which I've seen in "What links here" before. I was making a list like that too but deleted it. Creating all of the links and disambiguating them is a lot of work. There is also the thing about whether AFL and AAFC players are in the list and if that changes the title of the list. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 00:26, 12 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
AFL probably would be since its history and stats are shared with the NFL, but not the AAFC, since the leagues never officially merged. Lizard (talk) 01:28, 12 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I think there is a misconception with some people in that they think that the AAFC merged with the NFL but they never actually did. And we could just make another list of AAFC players, it wouldn't be that big anyway. The league was only around for four years. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 01:33, 12 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • So, what's the consensus on this? Delete? Are you gonna nominate the MLB one too? WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 20:02, 12 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
No, I don't want to get into an unnecessary debate with the MLB people. If you absolutely can't find any sources discussing NFL players with unknown given names, then I'd say tag that one for delete. Lizard (talk) 21:30, 12 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
K, but for the sake of consistency, the MLB one should probably go too if this one does. There don't seem to be any sources for the MLB one either. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 21:31, 12 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm gonna use a lifeline here and see what he thinks. Lizard (talk) 21:37, 12 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

k, you have two left lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 21:40, 12 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Lizard the Wizard: Sorry I'm late to respond here; I've been less active of late. It looks like the article is already deleted as requested by WO-9 as the lone author. The baseball article would provide an interesting precedent as an FA. That being said, WP:CCC can get even that article deleted. Without looking at the specifics, and speaking only as an admin and not an editor, this could come down to WP:IAR: "If a rule prevents you from improving or maintaining Wikipedia, ignore it." There's no automatic reason to delete the list if it is verifiable, as it doesn't seem to violate any other policies. It then becomes subjective as to whether existing guidelines like notability are relevant here. It's not a definitive yes/no response, but hope it helps to add perspective.—Bagumba (talk) 02:31, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm pretty sure you can use the DB-G7 template instead of PROD since you're the only significant contributor. Lizard (talk) 02:06, 14 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not leaving it blank, just clearing the history lol. Thx tho WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 00:07, 14 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Stop[edit]

You need to leave the NFL statistic charts alone. Mattatencio93 (talk) 20:59, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Mattatencio93: you need to relax. All he's doing, last I checked, as making them so that each column was adjustable by value. It's not vandalism and is widely common on Wikipedia. Also, any more statements telling people what to do, such as this one will be considered harassment. (talk page stalker) CrashUnderride 21:03, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

That's not all he's doing, last I checked. If that were all he were doing, that would be the one and only change in his edits. Also, don't be a hypocrite, you can't tell me what do after saying "I can't tell people what to do." Anymore statements "telling" me what to do, such as this one, will be considered harassment as well. Do not approach me in such a hostile manner after nobody was talking to or about you. Have a great day. Mattatencio93 (talk) 21:12, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

WP:Harrassment. I've watched Wiki's work over the last several months, their fine. (talk page stalker) CrashUnderride 21:14, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Mattatencio93: by the way, it wasn't "telling you what to do" it was an informal warning. After reading it, I can see a potential for misunderstanding, but the fact remains. (talk page stalker) CrashUnderride 21:18, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • They're* vandalizing the tables I've worked very hard on. Mattatencio93 (talk) 21:19, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Mattatencio93: awww, poor baby. They're adding to/correcting your work and it's "Vandalism". News flash, you're not perfect, neither am I. Hell, Wiki's actually gone through and worked on the stats tables that I have added and guess what, it made it better and I didn't whine and complain. (talk page stalker) CrashUnderride 21:22, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Well, let me retract and re-word my statement. Please stop changing the statistic charts I've spent much time on creating and improving. I understand you are trying to make them sortable, but that is all you need to do if that is all you're trying to do. Please do not delete anything, and just add what you've got to add. Would very much appreciate the respect and common courtesy. Thanks. Mattatencio93 (talk) 21:25, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Mattatencio93. Any specific examples. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 21:27, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Um, they didn't "correct" any errors because they weren't any. That's what I'm complaining about and I'm trying to be very civil and acting like an adult about it, even when some of us in the conversation couldn't say the same. Hope you have a good time trolling and have a good rest of your Sunday. Go Cowboys. Mattatencio93 (talk) 21:29, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Good question. It's normal to provide evidence when saying something like that. I forgot to ask...oops. lol. (talk page stalker) CrashUnderride 21:30, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@WikiOriginal-9 Two examples, Tony Romo and Dak Prescott. Look at the difference in the format of the charts before and after your edits. See a vast difference? I did. That's why I am here. Mattatencio93 (talk) 21:32, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If you're talking about the "NFL career statistics" header, I only removed it because I couldn't figure out how to make the table sortable with it still there. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 21:35, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

No offense, seriously, but the table wasn't sortable even with the heading gone. I would be more than willing to help you figure it out and make them sortable, because I like that and it's pretty cool. Just please don't delete stuff I took a lot of time on. Mattatencio93 (talk) 21:37, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, I think it was sortable if you check the article history but anyway. You can bring it up at WT:NFL if you think there's a specific way the stats tables should be formatted. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 21:41, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I know you love doing it so much[edit]

So here's another one for ya. :D (talk page stalker) CrashUnderride 04:51, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Embarrassing[edit]

Over 4,500 users saw Aqib Talib's page in this state, which is what it had looked like since Sunday, until I reverted it just a few minutes ago. Bang up job to the 36 editors watching that page. Lizard (talk) 00:53, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Lol, I wonder how many of those page watchers have edited recently. I guess people who haven't edited in years still have pages on their watchlists. Also, I'm pretty sure I ran into the same thing recently on another article, where someone had removed the infobox and no one noticed for several days. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 00:57, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Odd thing is the user that did the vandalism was blocked but their edits weren't even reverted... I can't make sense of that one.--Yankees10 01:00, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
There was a glitch in the matrix that day. Lizard (talk) 01:06, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Oh my sweet jesus I've been looking for that but I didn't know how to get there. Lizard (talk) 01:12, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think I knew about it until somewhat recently when I added the watchlist to the external links section of WP:NFL. I saw it done on another project. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 01:15, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Just for the record, another thing you can do is use the "related changes" link on the left side of every page. For example, Changes related to "Category:LSU Tigers football players". WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 01:26, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • So, I was looking at the watchlist and I discovered a useful tip when using it. When you click the last 30 days and last 500 changes, the farthest back it goes is the last 500 changes, not the last 30 days and there's no option to click next 500. But, you can just go in the url and change the 500 to 5,000 and that shows you the last 5,000 edits. The 5,000th edit when I did it just now was this edit on 01:20, 26 September 2016, so it goes back about four days. 5,000 seems to be the highest though. You can type any number below 5,000 too. You can also do the same thing for your own contributions. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 02:05, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Arghhhhh[edit]

That IP going around adding stats to infoboxes is using title case... "Rushing Yards". All my hard work, it is for naught. Lizard (talk) 17:55, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yh, I noticed someone updating a bunch of stats on that fancy watchlist we discovered. We're omnipotent now, watching over everyone, lol. Also, I noticed an IP reverting another IP's vandalism. A benevolent IP. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 17:58, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
People really hate that one sentence about how Derek Carr grew up a Cowboys fan. It's like we're accusing the man of murder. Lizard (talk) 22:46, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yh, at least it shows that people actually read the article tho, right lol. Actually scratch that, I think we should add a "childhood team" parameter to the infobox so they don't have to go looking. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 22:52, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Edawn Coughman[edit]

Have a look on my talk page. lol. I created and misspelled the header. (talk page stalker) CrashUnderride 17:46, 1 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If you look at the article history this is like is third or fourth account, not including IPs. He needs to provide a source for that stuff. I noticed he also removed himself from the notable alumni section on his high school's page. He might be leecobrown or whatever too. Why was that guy removing his college and high school from the infobox. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 17:50, 1 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know. I posted on MusikAnimal's talk page. So hopefully, they'll get that fixed. (talk page stalker) CrashUnderride 18:06, 1 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to join WikiProject National Football League[edit]

First of all thank you for the invitation. I focus on Dallas Cowboys players, current or who have played with the Cowboys at some point in time, so I'm not sure how much I can contribute to a league wide effort. But thanks again.Tecmo (talk) 23:41, 3 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Tecmo: You don't actually have to do anything. You can just add your name to the participants list if you want or don't want to. Keep up the good work with the Cowboys. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 23:44, 3 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Tecmo: it's a lot of fun. I started out like you, focusing on Dallas players (my team) but then I started expanding and if you go here, you'll see all the football articles I've created and just look at how many aren't Dallas players. It's pretty easy to get the proper info and sources needed. For me, creating a decent article only takes an hour or so. But I've also got a touch of OCD lol. We'd be more than happy to have you. For a quick example, have a look at one I just created Lamar Louis. It's not the best, but seeing as he wasn't a superstar in college and not drafted, there's not a whole lot to add. lol. (talk page stalker) CrashUnderride 09:04, 4 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Nice job on the articles Crash, I gave you a cup of coffee lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 15:57, 4 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I've worked on an article for Antonio Hamilton of the Oakland Raiders. He hasn't appeared in a game yet, but he's on the active roster. Should I go ahead and create it? (talk page stalker) CrashUnderride 09:39, 5 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Nice work on the current NFL players. I thought I was gonna have to make all of those. We could just wait on Hamilton until he plays in a game or if you think he passes GNG you could create it. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 16:07, 5 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Personally, I would want to wait. But honestly, who knows. lol. (talk page stalker) CrashUnderride 06:08, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
With the current sources it doesn't look like he'd pass GNG, since those are all WP:ROUTINE coverage. I couldn't find anything noteworthy with a quick Google search. The fact that he played for an FCS school doesn't help his case. I'd advise to just wait until he gets playing time. Lizard (talk) 07:00, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Lizard, my thoughts exactly. (talk page stalker) CrashUnderride 07:09, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Favre[edit]

So help me God if we don't get a recent image of Brett Favre in that infobox. Lizard (talk) 01:23, 8 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Someone actually uploaded a recent image of him, which I added to the bottom of his professional career section. Also, those pictures that Vegas uploaded might not qualify under fair use. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 01:29, 8 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
No, they definitely don't. The rationale isn't even close to sufficient, not to mention flat out incorrect. Even with the best rationale I don't think it'd fly. Lizard (talk) 01:34, 8 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Sometimes, I see people tag images as being historic. Think that would make it pass lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 01:36, 8 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Every image is historic. Everything happened at some point in history. Lizard (talk) 01:48, 8 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I know lol, but I see some images getting tagged as historic. I mean in 100 years they might think this picture of Favre at his Packers induction qualifies as historic and keep it. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 01:50, 8 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Then we'll let our ancestors decide that. It's not as easy as just saying it's historic. He has the purpose of use as "For visual identification of the object of the article. The article as a whole is dedicated specifically to a discussion of this work." The entire article is clearly not about Favre's induction into the Packers Hall of Fame. And minimal use rationale: "This is a recent photo of Brett Favre." That image has no place here, plain and simple. Lizard (talk) 02:05, 8 October 2016 (UTC)'[reply]
Lol, I was about to make a comment about "The article as a whole" thing too lol. Pretty sure the article isn't called Brett Favre's Packers Hall of Fame induction. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 02:07, 8 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
"there isn't a snowball's chance in hell that image has sufficient fair use rationale. enough of this charade" Fair enough lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 01:57, 8 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ben LeCompte likely wouldn't be at AfD if the article creator had actually written an article, instead of sticking his entire career into the infobox. Lizard (talk) 02:52, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ross Els[edit]

Hi. Hope you are well. You deprodded this with the explanation "declined prod, college football head coach" - just fyi, he's not a head coach, but a defensive coordinator, which doesn't really seem to meet WP:NCOLLATH. Onel5969 TT me 17:36, 14 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, he used to be a head coach. Additionally, with a quick google search, it looks like he may pass GNG regardless. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 19:03, 14 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open![edit]

"This is a list"[edit]

Wanna help me knock out all our NFL list articles that begin with "This is a list..." per WP:REDUNDANCY? Ideally, the opening sentence should provide some context of the list, like List of National Football League rushing champions. Even a simple definition is better than the horrible "This is a list" open. Lizard (talk) 23:36, 4 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, do you have a list of these lists, lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 23:37, 4 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yearly leader navboxes[edit]

Also, I don't think we should be creating any more seasonal leader navboxes. Lizard (talk) 00:00, 5 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I was planning on making a navbox called Template:NFL special teams tackle leaders in road games in the third quarter. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 00:10, 5 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
LMFAO!!!! :D (talk page stalker) CrashUnderride 18:15, 20 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Seriously though, the punting yards leaders one is really low-value. Lizard (talk) 00:24, 5 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
When I first started these my intention was not to have lame stats like that have templates Leading the league in punting yards isn't even a positive.--Yankees10 00:32, 5 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It can be, but usually it just means the team's offense sucks. Lizard (talk) 00:38, 5 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Anyway, I think the ones we had were good. Rush TD, pass TD, receiving TD, rush yards, pass yards, receiving yards, interceptions, and sacks. The only one I would maybe suggest having is tackles, but it doesn't look like we even have an article for yearly tackle leaders. Lizard (talk) 22:04, 5 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 22:08, 5 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Never mind about the tackles. Tackle stats have always been unreliable. Lizard (talk) 22:12, 5 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Slizard the Wizard about the TDs, yards, ints and sacks, but no, tackles aren't even officially recorded, so there's no point. Hey, we could have one for players who've had their face mask knocked off their helmet. lol. (talk page stalker) CrashUnderride 18:15, 20 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed. We could even make the face mask thing an infobox highlight lol. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 20:56, 20 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
