Vandals

What do we do with vandals? Remember Hdt83 reported it to an adminsistator when 9999a9999 put fake warnings on three of our talk pages? Did he just choose a random administrator or what? Sorry for wasting your time because I found out that you had to deal a lot with a vandal (the one that said he/she did not vandalize a talk page and said he/she can do anything he/she wants with his/her talk page) in Wikipedia. I want to tell you that the IP address 70.244.161.33 recently made a lot of unconstructive edits. I think the IP address will be blocked soon, but I'm just telling you in case it isn't blocked yet.

I want to tell you I currently have over 650 edits. I have been editing a lot yesterday and today. LADodgersAngelsfan 03:18, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

700 edits

I had 700 edits recently. This is my 701st edit. Congratulations on you 4000th edit. Hope you make it to 5000 soon. I want to ask you if Hdt83 knows that I changed my username from 55555five55555 to LADodgersAngelsfan. Can you ask him that for me? LADodgersAngelsfan 08:00, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The deterring vandalism fixed top layer.

This distorts images like flags when they are layered on top of one another, it also occasionally distorts text. I just thought I'd let you know, so that, if you know how, you can fix it (because I have no idea). =) The fixed on top layer notice also seems unnecessary. Also, what are the origins of your new name. You must also get alot of vandalism for the admins to grant your userpage semi-protected status. - Imperator Honorius 15:01, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Thanks for reverting my userpage. RuneWiki777 23:02, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks for this as well. ;-) JungleCat Shiny!/Oohhh! 23:10, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting a recent edit - I recently edited the spice girls article, and was quickly reverted, ill explain my reasons for my edit; I felt that the section was, poorly written (mistakes in it too) with bad grammar, pretty much repeating what was said earlier in the article, also even if it should be kept at all it should not be under the "Future" section of the article considering it talk of nothing apart from the past

Thanks!

Thanks very much for reverting the vandalism on my user page. It is much appreciated! Chickyfuzz14(user talk) 05:08, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Splitting up the page into too many pieces (each letter) is going too far. I would think splitting it into about four pieces would be enough, don't you think? And it should be set up so the pieces can be transcluded easily into a combined list for those who want the complete list on one page. NoSeptember 10:28, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

I am doing this because the whenever I open Wikipedia:List of administrators, my computer gets frozen. NHRHS2010 Talk 10:45, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I understand that, but we don't need twenty plus pages to solve that problem. You just created one page that has only two names on it :p. An approximately equal four way split would look like: A-F, G-O, P-Z, semiactive & Inactive. NoSeptember 10:49, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
Why are the section headings noincluded? I'm trying to use transclusion so that you can view them all at once if you want at Wikipedia:List of administrators/Active. For my purposes, it would be better if they were included. They don't seem to be transcluded anywhere else. — Omegatron 14:40, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Block changed

I honestly don't think it's a big deal, but I changed it for you. alphachimp 01:49, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please remove the annoying box that is centered on your userpage whenever I try to scroll? It's extremely bad web design. Thanks, alphachimp 01:52, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WP:RfA

I would like to nominate you so that you could become an administrator. Would you accept or not? NHRHS2010 Talk 02:13, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • I am very flattered by your offer, but at this time I have realized that I can do more as a non-administrator. I have developed many positive relationships with other administrators and seen reviewed discussions related to the responsibilities of being an admin. I still see huge amounts of work to be done to fill in the holes in my Wikipedia areas of interest, and being an admin would only detract from my ability to achieve my current goals. I might be interested in the future, and greatly appreciate your offer, but that this time I must decline. Alansohn 02:31, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption

Considering your edit count (over 4500, larger than mine), I figure that you don't actually want to be adopted anymore, but if you're still interested, I'd be happy to help you out. If not, you should probably remove the infobox from your user page, as it puts you in the category of users wanting to be adopted. If you want some help from an admin in regards to getting adminship someday, you should probably head over to Wikipedia:Admin coaching. -- Cielomobile talk / contribs 21:44, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, then you should probably head over to admin coaching; that'd be the right place for you. I removed the infbox, if that's alright. Best of luck! -- Cielomobile talk / contribs 22:03, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Conduct

Be assured that conduct like this is extremely uncivil and will come up in your eventual RfA. You may now move this message to your hall of defame. alphachimp 20:52, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In response to your message, yes you are generally a nice person. What Alphachimp meant about uncivil was the fact that you removed his comments without a good explanation which is considered uncivil by others as they think you may be trying to "hide" something. In addition, the diffs he referred to in his first post was talking about the fact the you used caps (which is the equivalent of shouting on the internet) and posted in such a way that it seemed like you were yelling at somebody. Hopefully you aren't disheartened by what Alphachimp as he was only trying to offer advice about your actions and that you keep up the good work you've been doing! :) --Hdt83 Chat 00:10, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You summed it up perfectly. I'm not trying to harass you. I'm trying to offer something helpful. alphachimp 00:30, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In cleaning up the articles, most of the pictures that were on that page were moved to a Wikimedia Commons link. If possible, please move the pictures on that page that you uploaded to the Commons. They will then be included in the Wikimedia Commons link. Thanks. --AEMoreira042281 01:30, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

To move it to the Commons, all you need to do is save the file, log onto Wikimedia Commons (separate registration required) and follow the prompts after clicking Upload File. --AEMoreira042281 02:06, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The files will now be linked in the Commons link at the end of the gallery. --AEMoreira042281 02:32, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ck lostsword's RfA - Thanks

Thanks very much for your support in my recent RfA, which passed successfully at 40/2/1, making me Wikipedia's 1,250th administrator. Your comments were much appreciated, and I will endeavour to fulfil your expectations as an admin.

RE: [edit] Please stop

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to De Stijl, you will be blocked from editing. NHRHS2010 Talk 20:39, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Thank you, but please be careful with your accusations. I do not recall changing the De Stijl page and if I did, it would not have been with the intention to vandalize. If anything (which I don't recall) , it would have probably been a grammatical error that needed fixing and I imagine I would have had to be in a pretty anal mood to do even that.

I don't know what authority you operate under but obviously you do have administrative power on here. Please use it carefully- I find messages such as yours abrasive and mildly off-putting.

Thank you,

Matt Cable (mattycabes@gmail.com if you have any other concerns).

5000th edit

Hey there! Congratulations on your 5000th edit! Keep up the good work you are doing. I am also letting you know that I am up for adminship here: Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship/Hdt83_2 if you're interested. Thanks and once again good work on your 5000th edit! --Hdt83 Chat 02:25, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WOW!

Wow, over 5000 edits. Congratualtions. This either proves that you are a massive nerd, or have way to much time on your hands. Good on ya though. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Smeagain (talkcontribs)

Congratulations!

It's unbelievable that you already made 5,000 edits in only three months. I found that you have over 5,100 edits right now. It seems like you are working at a normal pace right now so I think my guess of you making 10,000 edits in October might be correct. Keep up the great work. I'm looking foward to find out that you made your 6,000th edit. LADodgersAngelsfan 05:47, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks!

Not only did you revert 4 vandalisms to my user page and get the vandal blocked, but you even updated my vandalism counter! Now that is full service! Poindexter Propellerhead 08:03, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
