IREX edits[edit]

Greetings, I'm new to wiki editing so I apologize if I make protocol errors. I see you reverted a posting I made for IREX and wanted to ask why it was more appropriate. I'm certainly not claiming it's wrong but want to better understand how to post appropriately. We're trying to put up more information about the organization on wikipedia but obviously within the guidelines. Thanks for your help. FYI, the reason I'd listed IREX before listing our "full name" is because it's not really our full name anymore. We only use it for historical purposes. Though it's still our official and legal name, we hardly use it. In any case, I also wanted to provide info that we're putting up some copyrighted info that we maintain the copyright for, so there should be no violation on that front. Thanks for your help. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.17.19.27 (talk) 20:39, 14 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like we need to revert more. There's still vandalism in your last revision. Eeekster (talk) 07:01, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ok, it looks good as far as I can see now. Eeekster (talk) 07:04, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for reverting vandalism on my talk page. StaticGull  Talk  15:52, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 14:46, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just so you know, it is acceptable for a user to blank a page which they have created and where they have contributed most of the content. This is taken to mean that the author has requested that the page be speedily deleted, per WP:CSD G7. TallNapoleon (talk) 06:05, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I removed a misleading redirect. it may not have been 'constructive' it does remove an error. I fail to see how being not constructive is grounds enough for removing the edit. Manquer (talk) 14:36, 21 May 2009 (UTC) [reply]

sorry the mistake is mine I should have included an edit summary and i looked upthe rules for redirect removals it says I should nominate it for removal if i m not replacing the redirect with a article.I am not able to do that as I don't know much about the subject I was looking for info on it!.so reverting back to the orginal and nominating it for removal. thanks for making me look though! :)Manquer (talk) 14:58, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
didnt see ur message before reverting back apologies again hope the confusion is cleared.Manquer (talk) 15:15, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Edited as per rules[edit]

Thanks for the reply by WP editors in the page Jayen Varma. I wish to inform you that I created World Record with Registry of Official World Records {Record Holders Republic} and not with Guinness World Records. I had applied to both RHR and GWR. But my record was annonced first by RHR. So I had to cancel my Guinness attempt. GWR and RHR are very reputed Authorities. Guinness is not the sole World Record Authirity in the World. Now If anybody wants to make a world record in the same criteria with Guinness or whatever , he has to play more than 36 notes per second, because I created 36 notes with Registry of Official World Records and Record Holders Republic. That was why I requested to Change it like the present edit. This is a Fact which is varifiable with http://www.recordholdersrepublic.co.uk/recordholdersdetails.asp?id=484 . If this can not be accepted and WP believes that Guinness is the sole World Record Authority in the World, my page may kindly be deleted. I am really glad that I had a very good discussion here with really learned persons like you all.

Pl feel free to see the present edit. Now its varifiable. Its varifiable that I made a World Record with Registry of Official World Record and Record Holders Republic http://www.recordholdersrepublic.co.uk/recordholdersdetails.asp?id=484. This link page is for World Records only. Pl feel free to look in to it with a view that Guinness is not the sole authority to announce World Records.

Regards JV

I don't understand what this user did wrong for you to warn him on his talk page. They were updating an external link to a player website, from a URL that didn't work to one that did. Seems fine to me. --Jameboy (talk) 20:36, 23 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yogi's Treasure Hunt[edit]

Someone is putting incorrect info (on purpose) in the Yogi's Treasure Hunt article. It looks like this may be someone who the same thing before, but under a different IP address--Halls452 (talk) 01:22, 7 November 2008 (UTC).[reply]

I really dont know how this stuff works! Soooo confused, but i only tried to edit that Rhianna page because i went to Roc-a-fella's artist list and it said "Rhianna" and i believe it meant to be "Rihanna". So when i clicked the link it gave me Rhianna and i figured it was wrong so i was changing it a big...sorry! Someone should edit the name on the Roc-a-fella page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.175.218.99 (talk) 07:37, 18 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Graph[edit]

Hi, you just replaced a graph on the Israel-Gaza page. Your edit summary stated this was a "minor edit" and you were uploading the vector version of the graphic. However, your new graph had a dramatically lower Palestinian casualty figure despite multiple sources that support the figure in the original graph. I'm assuming that this was a good faith mistake. If not, your procedure was unethical; if you feel a lower figure is more accurate, you should present the evidence on the talk page, not try and insert it through a backdoor edit like this. UN Human Development Report 2008 map[edit]

Hi, I'm asking you this rather than the original creator of the PNG map as I figure you would be better placed to correct it if there is a mistake. I was wondering why on your map here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:UN_Human_Development_Report_2008.svg French Guiana is dark green. Its HDI is 0.862, meaning that it should be the same colour as Chile and Argentina, unless I'm mistaken.

Thanks for any explanation! Crana (talk) 23:30, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Typo in SVG file[edit]

Hi there, Cflm001. Just thought I'd let you know there is a typo in a file you uploaded, File:Marine Corps structure.svg. Marine Corps Recriuting Command should instead be Marine Corps Recruiting Command. I have no idea how to fix, but I suspect you do. Cheers — CharlieEchoTango — 05:56, 14 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Armenian genocide recognition on commons[edit]

Hi there,

The file that you initially uploaded regarding this topic is disputed because of a lack of a legend. I guess only you could explain and correct this point as the original uploader. Tentative World Heritage Sites[edit]

Sorry if I made you upset removing what I saw as wrong interwikilinkings. My thought is that there should be a category named Category:Tentative World Heritage Sites in line with the interwikicategories in Category:Cultural Sites on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List. As today you can't add the natural tentative sites to this category./Sendelbach (talk) 09:52, 6 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

User talk:90.219.89.77[edit]

Per your message, this is the first time I make a change on wiki. I apologize for my mistake.

Would it be possible to revert the edits due to the following reasons: Sister cities */ I do not understand how West Kampur, India can be a sister city given that it is in Asia and Santa Fe, NM, USA is 1,126 km away.

I hope this information helps clarify why I deleted the information.

Disambiguation link notification for October 19[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Bank of Queensland, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page ATM. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
