Ric Romero Delete[edit]

There's nothing valid that indicates Ric Romero has internet fame on any other web site besides the one that was noted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.115.202.36 (talkcontribs) 02:14, 26 May 2007

Fair use rationale for Image:The Invitation cover.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:The Invitation cover.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:03, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Typo (content management system)[edit]

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Typo (content management system), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. Jackaranga 12:51, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Contested. — ceejayoz talk 15:30, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, thanks for your interest in keeping the article in good shape. First please note I would rather the article remain here in a correct form, rather than be deleted. WP:VERIFY does not mean that the article must be verifiable, but that there must be references to third party internet pages or publications discussing the software, so that a reader may easily verify the information without having to do research himself, especially in the case that they don't know much about the subject. The "in a nutshell" box on WP:VERIFY sums it up well : "Material that is challenged or likely to be challenged, and all quotations, must be attributed to a reliable, published source." As it is at the moment I didn't see any such references, which is why I tagged the page, if you can address this concern by adding such references that would be great. If no such references can be found then perhaps the software is not yet well known enough to have an article here. Jackaranga 16:55, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Typo (content management system), an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Typo (content management system) satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Typo (content management system) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Typo (content management system) during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Jackaranga 17:11, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Userboxes[edit]

I really like your custom userboxes! You should template them so people like me can easily use them (I didn't want to rip off your HTML directly). --Viper007Bond 11:16, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Don't delete Ric Romero[edit]

"There is nothing to indicate that Ric Romero has any internet fame on any site other than the one referred to"

Er, "Wrong."

Or as Romero himself might have told the person who posted the "delete" request, "There's this new thing called 'Google' that lets you find information on the internet." <g>

(Come to think of it, the person who posted that might be Romero himself, in which case there's a 50/50 chance that he's actually never *heard* of Googl...) —Preceding unsigned comment added by JJSheridan522 (talkcontribs) 13:01, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File:Giant Palouse Earthworm.jpg listed for deletion[edit]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, File:Giant Palouse Earthworm.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. ViperSnake151  Talk  20:24, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ho Ceejayoz, thanks for the great image. You already uploaded the image to Wikimedia Commons, images on Commons can be used by all >700 Wikimedia projects. So no need to upload a local duplicate here on the english Wikipedia, files uploaded to the en.wikipedia can only be used here on this project. You should consider to upload files directly to Commons, sooner or later they will be transfered to Commons and deleted here. I tagged the file with {{nowcommons}}. --Martin H. (talk) 18:22, 11 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Wasn't sure how to switch it over to the Commons version (I accidentally uploaded here first). — ceejayoz talk 18:16, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Howdy![edit]

Hello, Ceejayoz ...

I came across your user page while trawling Category:Pastafarian Wikipedians, and noticed that you currently reside in Ra-cha-cha ... I lived there from 1968-1982, and graduated from RIT with an AAS in Professional Photography, and then a Bachelors in System Software Science ... I worked in the Research Labs at Kodak for three years before I opened my own portrait studio ... after a few years, I closed up shop and went back to RIT for a new skill set, and then I spent six years pushing bits in the CAD/CAM department of Xerox.

Anywho, I have Fond Memories of my time in the Flower City (I miss the lilacs in spring, but not the harsh winters) ... this sandbox has a picture of me in Rochester from 1981. (I no longer edit as this username. :-)

The article WEBrick has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Appears NOT to meet notability criteria. Bordering advertising.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 19:12, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
