Function Summary: The Werdnabot archival bot. Since it's been so long since it ran last, and it finished with a malfunction, I thought I'd get approval again. I've done some fairly extensive testing on my private wiki, and it seems to work fine (and give edit summaries).

Edit period(s) (e.g. Continuous, daily, one time run): Daily

Edit rate requested: 5-10 edits per minute, although I'd like to run it at about 20-30 edits per minute, if that can be managed.

Already has a bot flag (Y/N): Yes

Function Details:

Archives discussion pages which transclude {{User:Werdnabot/Archiver/Linkhere}}, to a specified page.
Refuses to archive any page to articlespace.
May optionally produce an index of all sections archived, for easy reference.
May optionally maintain numbered archives, with a maximum size (specified in kb) per archive.

I'm ready for a trial, but I don't have takers yet. I've tested it on archiving my own talk page, and it's verified working. Those interested may add the {{werdnabot}} template to their talk pages. — Werdna talk 09:24, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: I am very glad for the return of this bot, and for many of the features it has. However, might I suggest that you provide a few examples of how to add the template when not using the default configuration? I am not very handy with templates, so I had to go look up how to add a parameter, and I'm sure that many others less experienced than me could benefit from it as well. I've checked some of contribs randomly and I see no problem, no user has complained about the bot misbehaving either. I'd approve, what do you say (directed at other BAG members and random users passing by, as per new concept of trying to get more input before approving).
