False material[edit]

In my edit, I stated that there was false material placed into the article. In each of the four articles used as sources, the terms "neoliberal", "liberalism" and "third way" were not used once. Please cease from placing false information into this article.----ZiaLater (talk) 14:22, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

PAIS AllianceMOVER Movement – A move was made which caused a lot of cut-and-paste moves and attribution issues. This has now been reverted and has resulted in this discussion. I have checked the history of this page and it seems sources attached to this diff suggest this party's name has changed. The question is now whether to move this page or create an entirely new page for the current group and reserve this title for the former. • Leaning toward oppose (especially for the "Movement" part of it): This article doesn't currently even mention a "MOVER Movement". See also WP:NAMECHANGES. Also, it may be worth considering having two separate articles about the new and older organizations. Is the "MOVER Movement" really just a continuation of the PAIS Alliance? The linked diff references this article. Is that a reliable source? Is "MOVER Movement" the name that would be used in English? That article refers to the organization as "MOVER", not "MOVER Movement". The 'M' in "MOVER" is from the word "Movimiento", so "MOVER Movement" seems redundant. Should the title of an article about the new organization instead simply be the Spanish name "Movimiento Verde Ético Revolucionario y Democrático"? It also seems possible that the PAIS Alliance has more historical significance and notability than the new "MOVER Movement", in which case the title of the article should not change. — BarrelProof (talk) 17:12, 9 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose – As far as I can tell, these are two different orgs, not different names for the same org. If that's not the case, show sources to make the point. If it is the case, see if the MOVER org is notable enough to have an article. Looking at more news sources, it does seem to be a "comeback with rename" of the same party/movement. So the question is really whether there's enough coverage of the new name yet to do the move. More evidence from sources would be nice. And I agree with BP that we don't need the "Movement" part. • Oppose. A quick Google gave me no relevant hits at all for the proposed new name, but lots for the current one. Have a redirect by all means and document the new manifestation in the article, or set up a new article if reliable secondary sources justify it. These do not need to be in English but they do not include the group's own web page or press releases. This page history is enough of a mess already. Keep it as simple as possible for a little while at least. Andrewa (talk) 20:47, 14 December 2021 (UTC)\[reply]

PAIS AllianceMOVER (political party)More sources have reported on the party's name change (which has been approved by the CNE), and the party's social media presence on both Twitter and Facebook reflect the name change. The party maintains the same electoral number as previously, meaning that in effect it is recognized as the same entity, only with a different name. • Not all-caps: Most of those (non-self-published) sources are using "Mover", not "MOVER". Wikipedia generally avoids all-caps. — BarrelProof (talk) 20:12, 26 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Mover per BarrelProof. Dicklyon (talk) 00:35, 27 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support but for Mover (political party). This is not an acronym. See also MOS:TM, WP doesn't mimic "MARKETING CAPS"; see also MOS:SIGCAPS, WP doesn't do "capitalize this because someone wants to signify importance". And fix the all-caps in the article text.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  11:08, 1 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
