Pictures[edit]

How can this article lack pictures? There were so many unbelievable pics that were taken during and in the wake of this storm and we have no pictures. This will probably be a great example of the power of derecho/straight-line wind events for people...but we need pictures to prove it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.136.84.170 (talkcontribs) 10:32, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mid-South Derecho of 20032003 mid-south U.S. derecho – Per Talk:August 2023 mid-south U.S. floods#Requested move 22 August 2023 68.129.15.101 (talk) 18:05, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Alternative Mid-south derecho. Per WP:TITLEDAB disambiguation is only required when there is an actual conflict in article titles. There is no conflict in actual article titles for the alternative. Per WP:AT, concision is preferred over unnecessary precision. Derecho events (ie, using that name) are predominantly a US phenomenon. There would be no surprise that this refers to the mid-west US when US is omitted. It is unnecessary precision, as is the date. If a date must be included (as a disambiguator), the primary search term (eg Mid-south derecho) should precede the date or other disambiguation to facilitate the search. No need to cap mid-south at all in running prose (it is descriptive), and certainly not south per MOS:HYPHENCAPS and MOS:COMPASS. However, we would cap mid at the beginning of an article title. Also, derecho is descriptive and should not be capped. We do not cap for significance or importance per MOS:SIGNIFCAPS. Cinderella157 (talk) 03:25, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
