Margaret//Marguerite//Māgaretto[edit]

There has been back and forth about this name. WP:MOS-JP states that Hepburn romanization is to be used. That would mean that マーガレット would be romanized as Māgaretto. Is there a reason to ignore the manual in this case? Is either Margaret or Marguerite an official romanization? If so, where is it given? Goodraise 22:55, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Margaret in some form is an official translation. It's obviously the English word. However, unless Funimation has released some info it's impossible to know which version of the name will be used.Jinnai 01:50, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see anything about using Hepburn except in transliterations. Besides, shouldn't the focus on when we don't have an official spelling be on what the name is intended to be? We may not know whether the name is intended to be Margaret or Marguerite, but it sure as hell isn't intended to be Māgaretto. The Splendiferous Gegiford (talk) 02:23, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
How do you know what the name is intended to be? To me, this sounds an awful lot like original research. Goodraise 07:24, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It isn't original research in that sense. To say her name is Māgaretto is the same as the use of katakana in names is used for foreign names. If it was not, she should have Kanji. My guess would be to go to the Japanese Wikiproject and explain the situation. If they say Māgaretto that's fine, but I doubt they will as it's quite obvious it's not and and it's next to impossible Funimation will use that, even in their subtitles.Jinnai 04:32, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The pun is so ridiculously obvious it's not as much "original research" than "noticing the fact that there's a pattern. Also, it's so painfully clear FUNimation is going to notice said pun and run with it in their releases anyway, there's no reason not to run with it. "Margaret", on the other hand, has no real basis in anything other than "it's a real name", which has never mattered in One Piece. It's not a completely random coincidence that all the Amazon Lily girls have names that are katakana spellings of various flower names. 80.213.200.17 (talk) 10:57, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion started at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style (Japan-related articles)#Names of fictional characters: Hepburn or "intended" romanization?. Goodraise 21:30, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

FUNimation will be streaming episodes again in a couple days, so we'll get their spelling and names for all these things shortly. 88.90.184.5 (talk) 16:04, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

FUNimation has already aired these episodes, and it's "Margaret". The name should be changed to adhere to this. 68.230.123.58 (talk) 11:11, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Episode 336[edit]

Is there any actual official statement that it's part of season 10, or was it just randomly placed here instead of the season 9 page for no real reason? Japanese Wikipedia lists all specials outside the normal episode list by season, and it's not on the season 9 or 10 DVDs, so is there a reason it was put on this page? AdamantBMage (talk) 19:09, 9 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, you're right. Season 9's final DVD ends on 335, and Season 10's first starts on 337. It doesn't belong here. I'll edit it then.DemonRin (talk) 06:45, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This List needs to be Split up into Seasons 10, 11, 12, and 13.[edit]

I just got the "One PiecePia" Guidebook that was released for Movie 10, Strong World, and in the later half of the book it has a section for "One Piece 10th Anniversary" and gives information. It has every season listed up to the end of Season 12 (and it says where Season 12 Ends) meaning everything after that Point is Season 13. The book has every season listed as its listed here, but with these additions:

Season 11: The Sabaody Archipelago Chapter - Episodes 382-407
Season 12: The Women's Island Chapter - Episode 408 - 421
Season 13: Untitled as of now - Episodes 422 - Present

Here's the Proof: http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/7467/onepiece0074.jpg - Season 11's Entry http://img513.imageshack.us/img513/9232/onepiece0076.jpg - Season 12's Entry. Notice Season 12 is given an end point, and that end point, rather than leave it open, it says it ends at 421. That means Season 13 starts on Ep 422, but is untitled as of yet due to no entry.

I'm going to make The Season 12 and 13 pages. As they don't have DVD releases yet, I'll remove the pictures and leave that up to someone else. DemonRin (talk) 05:50, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
