Merge FEBA and FLOT into this article[edit]

I'm proposing merging this with FEBA and FLOT. Those two articles will probably remain stubs forever, and are virtually synonymous with front line. The difference between the 3 of these can be explained in one article.--Nobunaga24 12:32, 18 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support: this is a single topic, FEBA and FLOT are technical jargon within it. Michael Z. 2006-09-18 18:38 Z

As long as the term "front line" is redirected to this article when "front line" is searched. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.228.232.131 (talk) 16:05, 26 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

All done: "FEBA" and "FLOT" redirect to disambiguation pages that include this page; Front line (disambiguation) is itself such a page. Errantius (talk) 21:42, 29 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Examples?[edit]

I believe this article can be expanded from its current state with examples of front line personnel. There is a lot of conversation both inside and outside the military about front line and non-front line roles. In casual conversation, "front line" is generally associated with combat roles, but not all combat roles are front line and vice versa. For example, would ordnance disposal count as front line? Is medsurg front line? I think this is worthy of discussion in the article. ForestAngel (talk) 15:08, 27 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Evolution of the concept of Front Line[edit]

This part is now outdated in light of new information from the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Particularly as it seems to imply that modern warfare is inherently asymmetric. 121.98.26.214 (talk) 02:47, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
