Sun[edit]

It looks to me as if the article was saying that the initial belief was that "Abassi and Atai lived in the Sun", and as time went by the belief changed to the sun being Abassi. In this case the first statement should stay in the past tense. All the best: Rich Farmbrough, 18:41, 15 January 2015 (UTC).

Distinguishing between Efik religion and Efik mythology[edit]

Mythology can be defined as a collection of myths, especially one belonging to a particular religious or cultural tradition. This is different from Religion which is a specific system of belief and/or worship, often involving a code of ethics and philosophy. The page Efik mythology gathers what is regarded as myth in the Efịk cosmology. On the other hand, the page Efịk religion specifies the systematic beliefs of the Efịk people. For example, while the first subtopic of Efịk religion focused on the supreme being and how he is worshipped, the Efịk mythology page focuses on his personality, the stories that revolve him and show light on how these stories may shape the traditional mode of worship. The page Efịk religion further shows the various specific rites that are carried out during funerals while Efịk mythology may show the myth behind these rites.
