XQYY or XQYYYY system[edit]

Where does the XQYY or XQYYYY yearly quarters system derive from? Is this from a BS spec? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.169.35.1 (talk) 12:29, 22 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Untitled[edit]

This article should be merged into Year, which has a section on calendar years. Ben Finn (talk) 12:08, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hebrew Calendar[edit]

It does not have an "average length of 365.2468 days" - unless it's a leap year, a Hebrew calendar year never reaches 360 days. See here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.80.240.112 (talk) 04:45, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Calendar vs fiscal quarters[edit]

It looks like the quarters here were recently changed to US fiscal quarters. But this page is about the Calendar year, so I think these should be calendar quarters, where Q1 starts with January. Or perhaps I've misunderstood?

Etymology[edit]

A calendar year is divided into Quartals (a period, as in time) which are quarters (quotient, as in mathematics, division) of a year (time), using the Quaternary numeral system (hence the confusion).
