Talk:Audit trail

I belive the original definition on this page, and that shown at Webopedia, is better suited to an 'audit record' not an 'audit trail'. It seems to me the word 'trail' necessarily implies a sequence of activities, not a single activity. Superscript textHiyaaaaa :)

Might be good to mention; audit trail indeed means the process that the auditing is, with the documents that are produced along the way. Or something like that. It's not like all these finance terms would ever be "logical" --Sigmundur (talk) 10:40, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Updated article[edit]

I updated the content a little. Added multiple references. Added a references section. Removed the "no footnotes" template but left the "refimprove" template as article still needs more work. I also updated the "refimprove" date to March 2012 to better reflect some recent work has occurred on this article. It still needs a bit more work, but I don't have time at the moment to flush it out completely. Hopefully others can help.
