Move and Major Edits[edit]

The original for this article had good information, but no sources and it was very incomplete. I added top-flight sources and cleaned up some aspects. The following changes are relevant: 1. I moved the page. Agaja is the preferred usage, although some old Encyclopedias do use Agadja, the scholarly usage is clear. See: any Law source, or Bay, or Encyclopedia of the Middle Passage. Agaja is heavily preferred. 2. Debate in historians: There is an active discussion over the past 30 years about whether Agaja was active in the slave trade hesitantly or whether he was active. I tried to reflect and write the (very important it turns out) debate. But more improvement by experts could help. 3. The history is not clear on key points. I tried to reflect this with mentions of disputed parts. When it wasn't clear, I used Bay's history as a key default position.

Don't like these changes? Let's talk it out. AbstractIllusions (talk) 18:59, 25 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
