Background[edit]

The original text of this article had been incorrectly inserted in List of deadliest helicopter crashes (which has since been turned into a redirect). It was sourced with a non-english website only, and poorly written. I've taken it, trimmed it to the stub size that can be supported by the one english-language source. For the record, though, the following is the original text:

'Ason Hanun-dalet' On May 10th 1977, an Exercise held in the Jordan Valley at Yitav-Ughah area, The overall exercise was considered The largest of its time” and was carried out by Unit 35 and its Platoon 4 May, 1976 (May 6th) of Israel Brigade 890 Special Forces "Paratroopers, with a Yas'ur Helicopter transporting and landing troops while some troops caries full gear.

The Yas'ur CH-53s crashed soon after taking off.(Report of Pilot refusal to take off are surfacing as of 2006-2007) All 54 men on board were killed, including 10 air-crewmen.

The tragedy is remembered as 'Ason Hanun-Dalet' The Forgotten Crush, yet indisputably the largest aerial disaster of its time involving CH 53 at the IAF - 'Disaster of the 54' was soon forgotten or simply covered up by Israeli Air force staff and government Cover Up's claiming a simply PILOT…E

David Evri was responsible for IAF overall investigation and implementations (Also Responsible for the Second Later and Largest Disaster Investigation), while Itzik Mordechai was involve at the cover up as well, No record or conclusions were ever reported- Most of the IAF reports are yet classified 30 years after, learn more at www.may77.com and at the Memorial Service May 8th 2007

Maybe the IAF website could be added. The link is below. However, I'm curious because the IAF says the location of the accident was in the Judean Desert, not the Jericho valey, Maybe they're the same, I don't know. It also mentions that the new limit after the crash is of 36 people in a Yas'ur.
