[edit] History

The school was founded in 1954 by the Brothers of Christian Instruction and resides in the St. Francis Xavier district of the FIC. The school serves the sons of expatriates living in or near Tokyo, as well as many Japanese students seeking a Western, English-medium education.

[edit] Campus Overview

The nine-acre campus features an indoor swimming pool, an indoor basketball court, a full-size soccer field, several tennis courts, and various playground facilities. The three-story classroom buildings hold classes for grades 1 through 12, plus a readiness program and programs for students using English as an additional language. Additionally, the school features a large library for study. A chapel and on-site residency for the brothers are also available. The school is served by the Futako-Tamagawa Station (Tōkyū Den-en-toshi Line) and Kami-noge Station (Tokyu Oimachi Line) train stations. A fleet of 11 buses owned and operated by the school moves students throughout Tokyo. Seisen International School, a Catholic girls' school also allows their students to ride on the St. Mary's extensive school bus system.

[edit] Sports

St. Mary's encourages its students to join sports teams. TITANS is the official name for the team other than the swim team which is also known as the buccaneers. Not only do they compete against other KPASSP schools and has won titles in the past years but also compete against other international school. Their main rivals, the ASIJ Mustangs always attract a large number from the student body to their games. For the 07-08 basketball season the Titans managed win 2 of 3 games in which they have played each other.

Varsity Basketball Kanto co-league champions; 3rd place, Far East Basketball

JV Basketball Kanto co-league champions

Varsity Soccer Kanto tournament champions

JV Soccer Kanto league and tournament champions

Wrestling Kanto co-league champions; CAJ/SMIS tournament champs

The varsity basketball squad ended their season with great valor, placing 3rd at the big Far East tournament(3rd best finish in the school's history. The Titans started strong by winning all their games in pool play and went on to win big games against Simon Sanchez of Guam and Hong Kong International School. This set up the semi-final games vs eventual Far East Champion Seoul American. In one of the greatest games of the tournament, the Titans gave the Falcons all they could handle and just missed a shot at the buzzer that would have sent the game into overtime. The Titans then went on to defeat the American School of Japan to take 3rd place. The Titans finished 6-1 in the tournament.

In the past the Titans have managed to snag 2 other 1st place wins back in the 00-01 and 01-02 seasons.
