Parappukkav Bhagavathy Temple is a Hindu temple located on the banks of Kechery River in Kechery,Thrissur. The famous annual festival of this temple Vela , Pooram is celebrated in the meenam.[1][2] 18 Desams belonging to Thrissur, Kunnamkulam and Chavakkad taluks are worshiped as Bhagavathy.

Deities[edit]

The major deity in the temple is Goddess Bhagavathy.She is considered to be in Bhadrakali form. Besides Bhagavathy, other deities are Durga,Brahmarakshas,Nagas, Dandan,Kiratha Murthy,Vishnumaya Swami,Muthappan and Thazhathekkavu Bhagavathy.

Architecture[edit]

The temple has a traditional Kerala style architecture with a nalambalam, namaskara mandapam, kodimaram and shrines of upadevatas. The shrine has a chathura sreekovil.
