Nina Seafield

Nina Caroline Ogilvy-Grant, 12th Countess of Seafield (17 April 1906 – 30 September 1969) was a Scottish peeress.

She was the only child of James Ogilvie-Grant, 11th Earl of Seafield and Mary Elizabeth Nina Townend, daughter of Dr. Joseph H. Townsend, of Christchurch, New Zealand.[1]

On 24 January 1930, she eloped with Derek Studley-Herbert. They divorced in 1957. Her former husband died of cancer on 26 March 1960.[2] They were the parents of Ian Ogilvie-Grant, 13th Earl of Seafield, who succeeded to the earldom of Seafield.

The Countess of Seafield was allegedly the second richest woman in Britain after Queen Elizabeth II.[3] She died on 30 September 1969 of cancer.[2][4]
