Image is factually incorrect and misleading[edit]

This image makes it appear as if the collision happened in mid-air. One plane was on the runway and the other was in the process of taking off.

The justification for using this image seems to be that the "fog effect" is better, but it has been misleading users for > 2 years. Given a choice between "evocative" and "factual," please choose "factual."

Image is misleading[edit]

The image is showing the KLM hitting the Pan Am's wing by the look of it. KLM4805 actually hit the top of the pan am and cleared the wing, so unless I am seeing it wrong, this is not an informative image.

pan am tail[edit]
