I am writing about the article Howdy Doody (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Howdy_Doody)as it Lists those who played Clarabell. Several were left out.

1-Bob Keeeshan was the originator. 2-Dave Wilson (one of the "personal appearance" Clarabells doing work for Vic Smith (Bob's brother)made

 filled in for Keeshan during contract disputes in 1951 though(NBC denies this).

3-Bob "Nick" Nicholson followed. He was a quieter Clarabell and defined the "new Clarabell" 4-Ed Alberion was next. He was a "Nicholson" Clarabell. 5-Henry McLaughlin played the part for the bulk of 1954-56. 6-Lew Anderson played (on and off mixing with 4 & 5)from 1954 to 1960 and was the last Clarabell.
