The scale meters are more commonly drawn up to round numbers in such a way that the divisions themselves are integers and either round numbers or easier multiples/divisions. A better scale meter with four divisions would be a 200 km meter, so that the marked quarter lengths would then be 50 km. 100 km could also often used, because 25 is an easy multiple. If insisting on 150 km meter, it would be better to divide it into six parts so that you could easily see (and measure) the 100km, 50 km and 25 km lengths. The current division of 150 km to quarters is not a good choice because not only is 150km not very good, but 75 km is a lousy length and the quarter length of 37,5 km is simply weird and useless.
