"Asuming a 16:9 aspect ratio there are 1920 lines of horizontal resolution [..]" Wouldn't it be 1920 lines vertically? 87.248.9.75 (talk) 09:17, 27 January 2010 (UTC) Peter Heiberg, Norway[reply]

1920 is the horizontal resulution. -- Sloyment (talk) 15:38, 1 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Shouldn't it say 1920 columns though? 91.65.4.126 (talk) 03:28, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why "asuming a 16:9 aspect ratio" ?[edit]

The norm says the aspect ratio is 16:9, and the resolution is 1920x1080. There is no need to assume anything. This language suggests that we were talking about an analogue norm. 576i would have 1024 pixels per line if we assumed 16:9 and square pixels. -- Sloyment (talk) 15:38, 1 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. There this is very confusing. I also don't see the benefit to stating the number of pixels. That's not how screens are measured. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BreakDecks (talkcontribs) 01:55, 7 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Spelling mistake[edit]

The correct spelling is "assume". Please can this be edited. (talk)
