It is interesting to see how history is manipulated, sometimes for unfathomable reasons, like in the case of this image of the bombing of the Moneda. These are in fact two images (one lighter and one darker) photoshopped into one: first there is in the foreground the "No Parking" sign on the right hand side, and the woman walking unconcerned by what happens behind her, on the left side of the image. On September 11, 1973, the day the Moneda was bombed, there was a traffic light on the right hand side (and there is a traffic light on the other side of the street in the second, lighter image).
Why someone would photoshop these two images into one is a mystery to me. Why Wikepedia would use it, instead of an accurate depiction of this moment in history, is another one.
