This "ribbon" was not created by TIOH. The closest item is a neck ribbon. See: [1]. It should not be used in any article because it lacks WP:RS. – S. Rich (talk) 22:19, 1 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Its on file at NPRC, e-mailed by IOH as part of a medals database project in 2004. We can get a permissions e-mail if need be; I don't recall the specific e-mail address to send those too. Also, since NPRC now has the image, would it be theirs or IOH's? In either case, its a trivial image and there is no copyright on it. Good to have the paperwork in order though so to speak, thanks for bringing this up. -OberRanks (talk) 22:51, 1 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
NPRC has nothing to do with the creation of the "ribbon". The medal article explains the medal and the history behind it. This image is purely an invention that lacks WP:RS. – S. Rich (talk) 23:07, 1 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I added a link to a news article on the main awards page which shows a picture of the medal with a corresponding ribbon. I also dont get the comment about NPRC; its clearly in their awards database (I've seen a picture of it) and its clearly listed as a ribbon created for the medal by the Institute of Heraldry. If its really an issue, I can ask for a permissions e-mail with attached source material, but we might just be able to WP:AGF here and move on. -OberRanks (talk) 00:05, 2 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
