Poorly designed diagram[edit]

First off, randomly placing the highlighted areas is very confusing. All highlighted areas should start from a single corner and grow from smallest to largest overlapping each other. Look at the diagram in this article: Graphics display resolution. Although it is a bit cluttered, the principal is there. Second, the abbreviations are either confusing or wrong. What is an "are"? Acre? Use the international symbol, "ac" which is clearly stated in the article. Also, what is a "dam"? I know it is decameter but even its use in metric speaking countries is rare. Spell out the full unit and avoid confusing abbreviations. Third, why are there units on both the top and bottom? Is the bottom grid supposed to line up with the top grid? Are they the same grid size? And lastly, the text along the top and bottom is so close together it is difficult to discern between them.

Not to sound mean but this diagram is a total mess. I would prefer it be removed from use until it is improved upon. Thaddeusw (talk) 17:44, 24 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, really? "What is an are?" It's actually not that hard: a square km (km²) = 100 hectares (ha) = 10,000 ares (a) = 1,000,000 square meters (m²). 82.141.95.243 (talk) 00:55, 26 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
