Regarding William Johnson's role at the Albany Congress:

The photograph of the mural is in the public domain at the Architect of the Capital's website. That's absolutely fine. The caption also comes from that website, but the error in it has been allowed to stand. William Johnson (wasn't a "Sir" yet) did not represent Massachusetts. Since he was between stints acting as the Crown's Indian agent, he represented New York instead. I've read a lot about the man and do not believe that he ever lived in Massachusetts. He came from Ireland to New York, then removed to the Mohawk Valley where he lived until his death. Can the uploader either correct the caption or note that there's an error? I've notified the AOC site, too. http://earlytreaties.unl.edu/treaty.00005.html Thanks, Wordreader (talk) 03:47, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
