English: This image was captured on June 3, 2014, during the investigation of a leptospirosis outbreak in Nogosari, Boyolali, Indonesia. The Indonesian, Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) residents, interviewed farmers in this community, who work in rice paddies, like the one you see here, from dawn until dusk, and without wearing any footwear, placing them at high risk for contracting the bacterial infection, leptospirosis. |
