Spinksː The New South Wales Police Gazette for 24 March 1886, listed him as a deserter and described him as a ship's painter; "SPINKS, Walter. HMS Myrmidon. Deserter, at Melbourne, on the 10th instant. Painter, 2nd class, two badges, 30 yrs, 5'5 ½", fair complexion, light brown hair, blue eyes".
