Description

The Vickers Nene Viking G-AJPH. The aircraft was later converted back to a standard Viking. This was the very first civilian jet aircraft, first flight tested by the Great Joseph "Mutt" Summers.

Purpose of use

This photograph is used to support commentary about the aircraft type shown, in the article in which it appears. The photograph shows a uniquely modified aircraft which was the world's first jet powered airliner. The aircraft was modified back to normal (non-jet) layout (see article) and has subsequently been scrapped - it is therefore not possible to take free use photo.
