Summary

Description One of the first paravane patents shows controllable water kite wings and rudders at the empannage. Various purposed paravanes for military use: explosive and moored-mine cable cutting. Military used these water kites for offensive and defensive purposes. An explosive paravane unpon contacting a submarine would explode.
