DescriptionU-19 gun Ward Park Bangor inscription geograph.org.uk 405831 25c696df-by-Aubrey-Dale.jpg
Engraving on right side of mounting of the gun from German submarine U-19. In Ward Park, Bangor, Northern Ireland. It records how the gun was taken from U-19 after the end of World War I and presented to Bangor in recognition of Edward Bingham's Victoria Cross action while in command of a destroyer division led by HMS Nestor at the Battle of Jutland.
Note that the engraving incorrectly describes the German submarine as UB 19.
