Summary

Description

This is probably a very "standard" image(like that of the Taj Mahal) but I am posting it here for the sake of completeness of my collection.

Sidi Sayed Mosque: This incomplete mosque belongs to the 16th cent. There are two octagonal columns at the entrance which were supposed to be the minarets but the mosque was never completed. This wall has 5 such jalis. The one shown above also appears on the logo of IIM Ahmedabad. The 3rd or the central jali is missing. I asked a man in the mosque about it. He replied, " Pata nahi kidhar hai. Angrez le gaye the. Ab hogi kahin London mein."(Don't know where it is. The British took it away. Must be somewhere in London now).

The jali work is absolutely amazing to look at. I spent about an hour admiring all the work done here.
