Summary

Description
English: The photograph shows a chalk byway ascending a gentle slope. This is the route of the Ridgeway National Trail where it ascends Whitehorse Hill from the east. Fields on either side of the green borders of the byway contain ripe cereal crops. The landscape is devoid of trees, apart from a few small hawthorns growing on the margins of the byway. Open grassland can be seen on the horizon, at the summit of the hill.
