Larkin Company Building on Ashland Avenue between 36th and 37th Streets. Larkin Company located in the Central ManufacturingDistrict in 1912 after thoroughly canvassing the industrial locations in Chicago and in other Middle West cities, and erected the buildingshown above. They are one of the largest premium mail order houses in the country and their main plant in Buffalo is probably the mostcomplete and eflBcient of its kind. The Chicago building is eight stories and basement, built of reinforced concrete, sprinkled, and is a modelwarehouse building equipped with time and labor-saving conveyors, chutes, etc. The Leonard Construction Co. were the General Contractors. 42 JOHN D LARKIN.
