Summary

Description
English: Based on data from quantitative real-time PCR on samples of suture junctions during development, suture fusion is a tightly orchestrated expression of genes in specific temporal order, leading to endochondral ossification. Both cartilage and bone specific genes are expressed during this period, including Osteocalcin, Slug, Col X, Col II, Col I, Fgf-2, Fgf-18 and Sox9.
