Description

At Woodstock County Kilkenny A beautiful statue of a lady (without hat) in the house "Woodstock" in Co. Kilkenny!

Thanks to Seuss. who tells us that the Sculpture is of Mary Blachford Tighe (1772-1810) as sculpted by Lorenzo Bartolini ca. 1820.

Mary Tighe was an accomplished poet and her poem Psyche was admired by many and praised by Thomas Moore in his poem, "To Mrs. Henry Tighe on reading her Psyche" See Wikipedia Mary Tighe
