Description
English: St George's Church, Stowlangtoft, Suffolk, mural monument to Sir w:Walter Rawlinson (1734-1805) lord of the manor of Stowlangtoft, a banker and a Member of Parliament for Huntingdon. He succeeded his father on 2 December 1769 and inherited Stowlangtoft Hall which had been purchased by his father in 1760. He married Mary Ladbroke, a daughter of Sir w:Robert Ladbroke (1713-1773) MP and Lord Mayor of London in 1747. In 1771 Rawlinson became a partner with his father-in-law in the firm of Ladbroke, Robinson & Co., bankers.
