English: The Springfield Armory's experimental shop (in Bldg. 28) about 1923. it was in this shop that John C. Garand and his team developed and created his innovative weapons from the 1920's until Garand retired in the early 1950's. Garand may be seen in the right background in his coat and tie pointing at the blueprints on a table before a co-worker holding what appears to be the experimental Model 1923 Garand rifle. |
