Description

Soldats américains jouant aux cartes sur une route près de la Ferté-Macé (indiqué à 2,4 km), probablement à La Tourelle; sur la pancarte, La Ferté-Macé est indiqué à droite, Beauvain, Rânes et Écouché à gauche. Jean-Paul Pallud a retrouvé le lieu : <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/mlq/8193653046/in/photostream">www.flickr.com/photos/mlq/8193653046/in/photostream</a> La ligne blanche au sol supporte une inscription "FRONT" (mieux visible la photo suivante après accentuation forcée des contours): <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/mlq/1422194802/in/pool-autresphotosnormandie/">www.flickr.com/photos/mlq/1422194802/in/pool-autresphotos...</a> S'agissait-il du front à partir du trait ? indication pour les blindés ? l'aviation ? Le blindé allemand situé en arrière plan est un Flakpanzer 38t auf Selbstfahrlette Aus L (SdKfz 140)), la version antiaérienne allemande du char tchèque Pz. 38(t).

Selon Jean-Paul Pallud, déjà cité, photo prise le 14 août, les GI's appartiennent à la 9th US ID et le blindé à la 116. Panzer-Division.
