English: Shiju-shima (Turner Island) Actually named "Shiju-shima", this island's nickname was taken from Natsume Soseki's famous novel "Botchan". There's a passage that says "look at those trees over yonder ... looks like a Turner painting". (Ehime,JAPAN)
日本語: 国の登録記念物である「四十島」は、高浜港南西の黒岩海岸と横山の沖150メートルにある大小三つの岩が連なった周囲約135メートルの小島で、 夏目漱石が、小説「坊っちゃん」の中で、「あの松を見給え、幹が真直で、上が傘のように開いて夕一ナーの画にありそうだ…」と描写したことから、「ターナー島」と呼ばれるようになった。(愛媛県松山市
