This is an image of a building or other location within the Pioneer Square-Skid Road Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The district has been successively enlarged, and hence has multiple NRHP IDs: 70000086, 78000341, and 88000739

Summary

Description
English: "Exterior Schwabacher Hardware Co.", one of a pair of photos collectively captioned "The Schwabacher Hardware Co." from brochure Seattle and the Orient (1900).

The sign on the building says "The Schwabacher / Hardware Co. / Dealers in heavy and shelf hardware. / Us [the rest is obscured by the corner building]". The corner building was the Scandinavian American Bank and has a visible sign over the ground floor to that effect. A sign on the building to the right indicates that it is part of the Schwabacher Hardware Co.

The building still survives as of 2007, although the company is long gone. The corner building now has another story.

The pictures are, respectively, Image:Seattle - Schwabacher Hardware - 1900.jpg and Image:Seattle - Schwabacher Hardware interior - 1900.jpg. Because they overlap in the original layout, I've blurred the overlap area in the latter.
