Summary

Description
English: USGS map of Reading Bar, Clear Creek, and Clear Creek Road. Reading's Bar is a historical site in Reading, California in Shasta County. Reading's Bar is a California Historical Landmark No. 32. Reading's Bar is a gold find site and named after Pierson Reading. Reading discovered gold on the Clear Creek bar in May 1848. The site was a mining town of Clear Creek Diggings-Horsetown in the 1850 and 1860s.
