Notes | Rachel Booth Powers (1862-1955) was born in Rochester, New York, to Ansel Leander Booth, a printer. At the age of 2, she appeared as Harry in "Uncle Tom's Cabin". After becaming an actress, she married James T. Powers, a comedic actor and singer, in Rochester on May 19, 1892. The couple worked and toured together. The Powers resided in the Ansonia Hotel in New York City, but also had homes in Richfield Springs, New York, and on Cape Cod. James T. Powers died in New York City on February 11, 1943. Rachel Booth retired from the stage in 1920 and died at the Ansonia on July 23, 1955 (Guide to the James T. and Rachel Booth Powers Collection ). | |||||||||||||||||||||||
